A popular Sullivan’s Island restaurant, The Obstinate Daughter, suffered significant damage in an early morning fire on Wednesday. Fire crews responded to the blaze at 3:05 a.m. after reports of a structure fire at the restaurant, located on the 2000 block of Middle Street.

Sullivan’s Island Fire & Rescue Chief Anthony Stith confirmed that the fire was contained to the kitchen but caused major damage. Firefighters from Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, and Mount Pleasant worked together to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Obstinate Daughter, known for its coastal Italian cuisine, has been a favorite among locals and tourists since its opening. The restaurant’s management has not yet commented on the extent of the damage or when they expect to reopen.

No injuries were reported, and the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact local fire officials.
