Logan Wilson Linebacker Nfl Trade

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Bengals have reportedly traded linebacker Logan Wilson to the Dallas Cowboys just hours before the NFL trade deadline.

Wilson, a six-year veteran and team captain, requested a trade after experiencing a significant drop in playing time. Over the past three weeks, he has seen his defensive snaps decrease from an average of 61 to a total of 58, as the Bengals have started to utilize rookie Barrett Carter in his place.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the terms of the trade have not been disclosed. Wilson was drafted by the Bengals in the third round of the 2020 draft. With Cincinnati, he made 313 solo tackles and recorded 11 interceptions during his tenure, leading the team in tackles from 2021 to 2023.

This year, he has contributed 41 tackles, including 17 solo efforts, and recovered one fumble, but he did not play in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears due to a calf injury sustained against the New York Jets.

The Cowboys, struggling with one of the worst defenses in the league, are likely to look for Wilson to provide an immediate boost. Dallas allowed 397.4 yards and 30.8 points per game this season, ranking near the bottom of the NFL.

Cincinnati has leaned heavily on rookies to fill the linebacker position following Wilson’s reduced role, as both Carter and second-round pick Demetrius Knight Jr. will see expanded opportunities as the season progresses.
