Benson and Stabler Spotted Courtside at Knicks Game

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Former co-stars Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni, known for their iconic roles as Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler on ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, were photographed enjoying a New York Knicks game on Friday, April 11, 2025. The duo sat courtside at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers in a closely contested game.
Despite the Knicks’ 108-102 loss, Hargitay and Meloni appeared to be in great spirits, sharing laughs and smiles throughout the evening. The Knicks took to social media, posting a delightful snapshot of the pair with the caption, “DUN DUN,” referencing the iconic sound associated with the Law & Order franchise.
Hargitay donned a stylish gray long-sleeve top paired with statement necklaces, while Meloni opted for a relaxed look with a black jacket and blue jeans. The two were captured holding hands in the now-viral courtside photo, eliciting excitement among fans of the long-running series.
In attendance were several other celebrities, though the Knicks’ defeat did little to dampen the mood. The team is still set to enter the playoffs, having secured a first-round game against the Detroit Pistons, much to the delight of their loyal fan base.
The camaraderie between Hargitay and Meloni has spanned over two decades, beginning when they first landed their roles on SVU in 1999. Reflecting on their friendship, the actors shared in a previous interview that their bond formed early during auditions, when Meloni engrossed Hargitay with a story, prompting them to request extra time before their audition began.
Although Meloni departed from the show in 2011 after contract negotiations fell through, the actors reunited in 2021 for a crossover episode of ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’, the Stabler-focused spinoff. Their continued collaboration underscores a friendship that has remained strong through the years.
Further showcasing their bond, Hargitay serves as the godmother of Meloni’s daughter, Sophia, born in 2001. Their enduring friendship remains a source of joy for fans of the hit series, who frequently express their admiration for the duo’s on-screen chemistry and real-life camaraderie.
