Jonathan Joss Actor Shooting

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, 56, was indicted on Monday by a Bexar County grand jury for the murder of actor Jonathan Joss, known for voicing John Redcorn on the animated series King of the Hill. The incident occurred on June 1, when Joss, 59, was shot outside his mailbox in the 200 block of Dorsey Drive.

Officials reported that Alvarez confronted Joss after parking behind his vehicle. Witnesses claim an argument ensued, and Alvarez threatened Joss before firing a rifle. Joss was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency measures taken by responders.

After the shooting, Alvarez was detained by San Antonio Police and allegedly confessed, saying, “I shot him.” He was later released from Bexar County jail after posting a $200,000 bond.

Alvarez’s attorney, Nico LaHood, maintains that his client acted in self-defense amid a long-standing neighborhood feud. “People in Texas have a right not to be a victim,” LaHood stated. “We believe that applies here.”

The case has been assigned to Bexar County’s 437th Criminal District Court, presided over by Judge Joel Perez. It remains unclear when Alvarez will make his next court appearance.
