Big Bash Star Josh Brown Signs International T20 Contract In Bangladesh

Australia’s breakout star of the Big Bash League, Josh Brown, is taking his big-hitting talents to Bangladesh as he signs his first international T20 contract with the Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League. Brown’s impressive batting performance in the BBL final caught the attention of franchises in both the BPL and the UAE‘s ILT20, with his management fielding offers from both leagues.

Scoring a matchwinning 53 off 38 balls in the BBL final at the SCG, Brown’s agent was finalizing a deal for him to join the Chattogram Challengers. The 30-year-old Brisbane Heat batter will be arriving in Bangladesh as soon as Friday to join the team for their upcoming match in Sylhet on Saturday.

The signing of Brown is a major coup for the Chattogram Challengers, who have already secured the services of England batter Phil Salt. Brown’s interest in playing in overseas leagues led him to express his willingness to take up any opportunities that came his way.

This international contract comes following Brown’s record-breaking innings in the BBL, where he scored 140 runs off just 57 balls, including a Big Bash record of 12 sixes. Along with his powerful batting, Brown’s consistent performances led the Brisbane Heat to clinch the BBL trophy.

The Chattogram Challengers have had a strong start to the Bangladesh Premier League, winning two out of their three matches so far against the Sylhet Strikers and Durdanto Dhaka. Their next match against Fortune Barishal will now see the addition of Josh Brown to their lineup.

Joining the likes of Phil Salt, Brown’s signing with the Chattogram Challengers comes shortly after the disappointment of losing Pakistan’s Mohammad Haris, who was denied an “no objection certificate” by his country’s board. The franchise is eagerly awaiting Brown’s arrival, hoping he can replicate his BBL heroics in the BPL and contribute to their success in the tournament.
