2026 College Football Recruiting Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — As spring approaches its end and summer looms, the college football recruiting landscape intensifies. With the release of the latest On300 rankings this week, teams are actively solidifying their recruiting classes for the 2026 cycle. Top conferences, especially the Big Ten and SEC, are dominating the national landscape.

Four Big Ten schools currently rank among the nation’s top 10 recruiting classes, with a total of eight teams represented in the top 30. Leading the conference is USC, boasting a robust class that includes two five-star prospects and ten four-star commits, placing them at No. 2 nationally.

“The Trojans have been scorching hot on the recruiting trail,” said a recruiting analyst. They are expected to finalize most of their commitments soon. Top recruits include linebacker Zion Elee, who now ranks No. 24 nationally.

Following closely is Oregon, ranking No. 3 nationally with a strong lineup featuring tight end Harrison, the top player at his position. Ohio State, sitting at No. 4, is heating up after securing commitments from top-tier athletes, including five-star safety ranked No. 3 in the nation.

In the SEC, LSU maintains their competitive edge with the top class, adding crucial commitments in offensive lineman Keyes. Five-star defensive lineman and wide receiver are standout players who are expected to play key roles moving forward.

With only five total commits, Alabama boasts the highest average rating per recruit in the country, including four blue-chip players. Texas A&M has significantly strengthened its class with several well-rounded commitments, while Tennessee’s early commitment from quarterback Brandon promises a bright future for the Volunteers.

The Maryland Terrapins are also making headlines, currently holding the No. 17 spot nationally with just three commits. Elee leads the way as a five-star defensive prospect, showcasing the Terrapins’ strategy of prioritizing in-state talent.

As teams gear up for a busy recruiting summer, the Big Ten and SEC are positioning themselves for a strong showing in the upcoming National Signing Day.
