NEW YORK CITY, NY — Former President Bill Clinton was spotted at the finish line of the New York City Marathon on Sunday, drawing attention for a bandage covering the tip of his nose. Clinton, 79, was there to support his daughter Chelsea, 45, who completed the race.

The former president was joined by his wife, Hillary Clinton, 78, as they congratulated Chelsea. The reason for Clinton’s injury was not immediately clear, raising questions about his ongoing health issues. Over the years, Clinton has faced multiple health challenges, including major heart surgery and hospitalizations.

In 2004, Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery after doctors found severe blockages in his arteries. He suffered a collapsed lung in 2005 and had additional heart-related procedures in 2010, when two stents were inserted. Last year, he spent several days in the hospital due to a fever and suspected dehydration.

During the summer of 2025, he was seen leaving the Hamptons with what appeared to be a defibrillator bag, raising further concerns about his health. In August of the same year, Clinton was photographed at an airport, accompanied by individuals carrying what looked like a medical device.

Despite his health issues, Sunday’s images showed Clinton in good spirits, embracing Chelsea and celebrating her marathon completion. Since President Trump’s return to the White House, Clinton has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, although he has participated in key Democratic events and campaigns.

The cause of Clinton’s current nose injury remains unknown. Observers have suggested possible explanations, including a skin issue related to his medical history. In 2001, he was diagnosed with a common form of skin cancer, which was reported to be almost always curable.
