Bill Belichick Tom Brady Podcast

LOS ANGELES, CA — Bill Simmons, founder of The Ringer, delved into the evolving rift between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady during a recent episode of his podcast. His new insights were sparked by an email posted by Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old dating the former Patriots coach, following an awkward CBS interview with Belichick.

Simmons noted that Belichick has been in the spotlight lately after the controversial interview aired, where he discussed public relations strategies concerning his upcoming book. In her defense of Belichick, Hudson shared an email from him that stood out to Simmons for its mention of franchise valuation, which he suggested could explain much about the tensions between Brady and Belichick.

“It was always like, ‘We’re in this together. There’s no credit.’ But the credit thing was a big part of it… There clearly was a ton of trouble,” Simmons explained. He reflected on how Brady’s decision not to re-sign with the Patriots was influenced by the ongoing debate over who was more responsible for the team’s Super Bowl successes.

Simmons suggested that it must have been upsetting for Belichick when Brady succeeded in Tampa Bay, affirming that credit and recognition played a significant role in their complicated relationship.

Meanwhile, Belichick’s relationship with Hudson has faced scrutiny from fans and those close to him, especially following the CBS interview. According to a source, Belichick’s adult children are supportive of their father but have concerns about Hudson’s influence over him.

Belichick’s children, who have followed in his coaching footsteps, reportedly hope their father’s relationship is a good choice for him. The family dynamics have drawn interest, particularly after comments made by Stephen Belichick’s wife during a CBS segment.

A second source told People that the relationship between Belichick and Hudson is genuine, despite the age difference, while suggesting that Hudson has been playing an increasing role in Belichick’s daily operations and public relations.

However, the source warned about Hudson’s handling of her role, stating, “It’s amateur hour and it’s showing… She thinks she knows everything, like every other 24-year-old.” Belichick and Hudson’s relationship became public last June after they met on a flight from Boston to West Palm Beach.
