Blake Lively Justin Baldoni Taylor Swift Legal Battle

NEW YORK, NY — Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continue to face off in a contentious legal battle stemming from their work on the film “It Ends With Us.” In a new court filing, dated May 15, 2025, Baldoni’s legal team claims Lively pressured pop star Taylor Swift to publicly support her in their ongoing dispute.

This ordeal began when Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department, alleging sexual harassment during the film’s production. Baldoni, who directed the film, denied these accusations, asserting that they are categorically false and shameful.

Both Lively and Baldoni launched dueling lawsuits, with Lively’s team accusing Baldoni and his production company of attempting to discredit her. Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, labeled Lively’s allegations false and stated, “This is categorically false. We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations.”

Lively’s lawsuit claims that Baldoni, along with his public relations team, has been engaged in a smear campaign against her, which Baldoni’s team vehemently denies. As tensions escalated, Baldoni’s legal filings suggested that Lively demanded Swift issue a public statement supporting her amid this chaotic scenario, claiming that failure to comply would lead to the release of private text messages between Lively and Swift.

Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, responded to these claims by asking the court to dismiss them as “improper and abusive.” He reiterated that they would fight back against what he described as baseless accusations. Furthermore, Swift’s representatives affirmed that she has remained uninvolved in any capacity beyond licensing her song, “My Tears Ricochet,” for the film and called the situation a misuse of her name to draw public attention.

Amid these allegations, a judge ruled against Baldoni’s attempts to include certain claims in the ongoing case, calling such actions “improper” and potentially subject to sanctions. This decision has only added fuel to the fire as Lively and Baldoni prepare for their next court appearance, set for March 9, 2026.

As the legal drama unfolds, Swift’s representatives emphasized her limited involvement with the film, indicating that she was never involved in casting or creative decisions. The connection was solely through the song licensing, as Swift was reportedly occupied with her global tour during the film’s production. This ongoing legal saga continues to draw media attention as new allegations and claims emerge from both sides.
