Blues Clutch at Home for Playoff Berth Against Utah Tonight

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The St. Louis Blues will seek a crucial regulation win against the Utah Hockey Club during their regular-season finale at Enterprise Center on April 15 at 7 p.m. CT. The matchup is pivotal for the Blues, who can secure a playoff spot with a victory, while the Utah team, eliminated from playoff contention, hopes to finish their inaugural season strong.
Blues defenseman Philip Broberg is set to return to the lineup after missing a recent game due to personal reasons. Coach Jim Montgomery confirmed that Tyler Tucker is anticipated to sit out. Jordan Binnington will start in goal, aiming to extend his home win streak to 11 games.
“The word opportunity, to me, is such a positive word,” Montgomery said ahead of the matchup. “It’s an opportunity to seize the moment and to do something special. That’s what’s in front of us.”
Currently, the Blues hold a record of 43-30-8. After a franchise-record 12-game winning streak, the team stumbled in their recent road trip, gathering only one point from three games. Captain Brayden Schenn emphasized the significance of the game, stating, “This is what we play for… Chances like this are what make the game exciting.”
Despite recent struggles, St. Louis’ players are optimistic about taking on a Utah team that has posted a respectable 5-1-1 record in April. The Blues have enjoyed playing at home, with a streak of 11 consecutive victories at the Enterprise Center dating back to February 23.
“The excitement’s going to be in the building, the excitement’s going to be there in the locker room, and we have to go out there and get the job done,” Schenn added.
Utah concluded their home slate with a 7-3 win over the Nashville Predators, benefiting from a strong performance from captain Clayton Keller, who contributed four points to the victory. The team looks for momentum as they wrap up their season against St. Louis.
This matchup has significance beyond securing a playoff position for the Blues. Before the game, a moment of silence will be held to honor former goaltender Greg Millen, who passed away recently. Millen played with the Blues from 1985-89, and the organization recognized his contributions to the sport and the St. Louis community.
As the puck drops, both teams will aim to leave their mark in this concluding chapter of the season, with the Blues seeking to clinch their playoff destiny in front of a home crowd.
