Boone County Celebrates Solar Eclipse with Festivities
Boone County in Indiana came alive this past weekend with an array of events and activities as people gathered to witness the rare and spectacular total solar eclipse. The region was abuzz with excitement as various venues hosted themed parties and celebrations.
Memory Hall in Lebanon turned into an everything ’80s extravaganza with a roller skating party, while Merle Norman became the center for a stylish ‘Pretty in Pink’ gathering. Klooz Brew hosted a ‘Breakfast Club’ session, and a ‘Back to the Future’ movie night took place at the Boone County distillery.
Joe LePage, the Executive Director of the Boone County Convention Bureau, expressed his enthusiasm for the festivities. He highlighted the community-wide involvement that ranged from north to south and east to west, including watch parties along State Route 39 and State Route 52.
Allyson Gutwein, the Executive Director of Discover Boone County, shared in the excitement, emphasizing how these events provided a unique opportunity for families to come together for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
As the day of the solar eclipse arrived, the community was prepared to witness the transformation of daytime into night for those magical four minutes. People of all ages joined in the celebrations, making it a memorable occasion for Boone County.
