Botafogo Reveals Squad for Critical Match Against Vasco
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — Botafogo announced its roster for the highly anticipated classic against Vasco on Wednesday, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Estádio Nilton Santos. This match is part of the 32nd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Key players returning to the squad include Joaquín Correa, Savarino, and Marçal, all of whom missed the previous game against Mirassol due to injuries. Savarino had been sidelined due to a “clinical alteration,” while both Correa and Marçal suffered calf injuries but are returning ahead of schedule.
In addition, midfielder Allan is back after serving an automatic suspension last weekend. The team has made adjustments to the lineup, moving away from the previous three-man midfield setup.
However, Botafogo still faces several injuries, with players Neto, Bastos, Kaio Pantaleão, Álvaro Montoro, Jordan Barrera, Nathan Fernandes, and Matheus Martins unavailable due to medical reasons.
Coach Davide Ancelotti’s starting lineup is expected to feature Léo Linck in goal, with a defensive line including Vitinho, David Ricardo, Alexander Barboza, and Alex Telles. Midfielders Marlon Freitas, Danilo, Savarino, and Santi Rodríguez will support forwards Joaquín Correa and Arthur Cabral.
Botafogo currently ranks seventh in the league with 47 points, while Vasco is aiming for a strong result to secure a spot in the 2026 Libertadores.
The outcome of this match is crucial for both teams as they battle for positions in the table, raising expectations among their passionate fan bases.
