Boulder Dam Credit Union Sets Annual Shred Day for April 16

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — The Boulder Dam Credit Union will host its annual Shred Day on Wednesday, April 16, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Elaine K. Smith Center, located at 700 Wyoming Street. This event allows community members to dispose of sensitive documents while maintaining their privacy.
Participants are reminded to follow specific guidelines regarding what can and cannot be shredded. Items prohibited from the shredding service include plastic files, leather goods, three-ring binders, ink cartridges, and compact discs. The Credit Union emphasizes that any items falling outside these parameters should be disposed of before arriving at the shredding site.
“We ask that participants do not leave their shreddable items curbside,” a Credit Union representative said. “This prevents any unnecessary inconvenience to staff and ensures the shred truck can promptly service the location.”
Attendees are encouraged to be patient, especially during peak hours, as this is a complimentary service available to Boulder Dam Credit Union members and likely non-members as well. “The appreciation shown by patrons while waiting in line helps create a positive atmosphere for everyone involved,” the representative added.
Shred Day aims to support community efforts in secure document disposal, addressing rising concerns about identity theft and data security. Residents are invited to gather their materials and mark their calendars for this important event.
