Brad Marchand Honored For 1000th Nhl Game Milestone

On October 21, 2009, Brad Marchand, the forward for the Boston Bruins, marked the beginning of his NHL career by playing his debut game in the black and gold uniform.

That night, in a 3-2 victory for the Bruins against the Nashville Predators, the former QMJHL player notched his first point with an assist on a Michael Ryder goal.

Despite a challenging rookie season with only 20 games played, Marchand made a strong comeback in the 2010-11 season, tallying 21 goals and 20 assists for a total of 41 points in 77 games.

On Tuesday, February 13th, the newly appointed captain of the Bruins reached a significant milestone in his career, playing his 1000th game in the NHL.

In a shootout loss of 3-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Brad Marchand contributed with two assists, bringing his total NHL points to 912.

Today, as he played his 1003rd game, the Bruins faced off against the Dallas Stars at the TD Garden.

During this game, the organization paid tribute to their captain for his 1000-game achievement.

In addition to receiving a beautiful painting, Marchand was gifted a custom-engraved Rolex and a gift set consisting of exquisite bespoke coats in the Bruins’ colors.

Love him or hate him, it’s undeniable that the feisty Bruins player is a talented individual deserving of recognition for his significant contribution to the organization’s many accomplishments.
