PHOENIX, Ariz. — Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will be re-evaluated in one week due to a left hamstring strain, head coach Mike Budenholzer announced before Monday’s game at PHX Arena.

“I feel bad for Brad,” Budenholzer said. “We’ve just got to find a way to try to keep him healthy. Hopefully, we can get him right. We’ve got to get ready to go play tonight and each night.”

Beal, who has struggled with injuries this season, sat out the second half of Sunday’s 107-96 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to left hamstring soreness, which has since been elevated to a strain. Two-way player Collin Gillespie filled in for Beal during the second half.

Throughout this season, Beal has played in only 48 games and has recently battled a left calf injury. The 30-year-old is averaging 17.3 points in his second season with the Suns, who had planned a maintenance strategy with Beal after the All-Star break to maintain his health.

Based on the current diagnosis, Beal is expected to miss the Suns’ upcoming matches against the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, and NBA-leading Cleveland Cavaliers. His condition will be re-evaluated next Monday when the Suns host the Milwaukee Bucks in the fourth matchup of a five-game homestand, which concludes on March 26 against the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics.

“We’ll be hopeful this next week goes well and re-evaluate him then,” Budenholzer said.

On the injury front, Grayson Allen will miss his fourth consecutive game due to a left foot strain. Meanwhile, Cody Martin (sports hernia), Monte Morris (back injury management), and Nick Richards (right ankle sprain) are expected to return for Monday’s game.

The Raptors will be without several key players including RJ Barrett (illness), Ulrich Chomche (right knee MCL tear), Gradey Dick (right knee bone bruise), Brandon Ingram (left ankle sprain), Jakob Poeltl (rest), and Ja'Kobe Walter (right hip flexor).

The Raptors (24-44) previously defeated the Suns, 127-109, last month in Toronto, showcasing a strong finish with a three-pointer on five of their final seven possessions.
