Braves and Red Sox Clash as Losing Streaks Continue

BOSTON, MA — The Atlanta Braves face off against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. in the second game of a weekend series. Both teams are seeking to break out of losing streaks.
The Braves, coming off back-to-back losses against Cy Young award-winning pitchers, will start right-hander Grant Holmes. This will be his first career start against the Red Sox. Holmes has struggled in recent outings, failing to secure a win in his last four appearances, with his most recent victory on April 20 against the Twins.
In his last outing, Holmes did not receive a decision despite pitching well against the Nationals, going 6 1/3 innings while allowing just one run. His ERA stands at 4.14 with a record of 2-3.
On the other hand, the Red Sox are experiencing their own struggles, currently on a four-game losing streak. Lucas Giolito, who was the winning pitcher in Boston’s most recent victory, will take the mound with a 1-1 record and a 5.51 ERA.
The expected lineups for each team include notable players such as Alex Verdugo and Ozzie Albies for the Braves, while Jarren Duran and Rafael Devers will feature prominently for the Red Sox.
As the Braves aim to push their record above .500, they have recently found some momentum, winning four of their last five games. Meanwhile, the Red Sox have faced difficulties, scoring two runs or fewer in multiple contests, including their last outing.
Tonight’s matchup will be broadcast on FOX and WEEI-FM 93.7, with first pitch set for 7:15 p.m. ET.
