Brewers Hope to Utilize Rodriguez for 80 Pitches on Monday

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Brewers manager Pat Murphy announced that the team is aiming for around 80 pitches from pitcher Rodriguez during his start against the Kansas City Royals on Monday.
Rodriguez has been gradually stretched out during spring training, managing to pitch 3.2 innings and throwing 62 pitches in his last outing. Notably absent in the Brewers’ initial series against the New York Yankees, his performance on Monday could provide a critical boost for a team currently facing multiple pitching injuries.
“We’re excited to see what he can do. 80 pitches seems reasonable given his progress,” Murphy stated during a pre-game press conference. “We need depth in our rotation, and Rodriguez could be pivotal for us.”
His potential contribution is especially crucial as Milwaukee navigates a challenging start to the season with several pitchers on the injured list. Rodriguez’s ability to effectively extend his outing could alleviate the pressure on the bullpen and provide the team with the necessary innings.
Potentially facing a lineup that includes consistent hitters from Kansas City, Rodriguez will need to be efficient and effective to ensure a successful outing. As the Brewers strive to improve their standing early in the season, every pitch will count.
