Brittany Howard Grammys 2025 Quincy Jones Tribute

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Brittany Howard, the Grammy-winning artist and former frontwoman of Alabama Shakes, is set to perform at the 2025 Grammy Awards as part of a tribute to legendary producer Quincy Jones. The announcement comes amid a wave of activity for Howard, including the reunion of her former band and new studio work.

Howard, an Athens, Alabama native, will join a star-studded lineup including Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, and Janelle Monáe in honoring Jones, who passed away in November at age 91. Jones, best known for producing Michael Jackson‘s iconic albums “Off the Wall,” “Thriller,” and “Bad,” left an indelible mark on the music industry.

This week has been particularly eventful for Howard. On Monday, Alabama Shakes shared photos of Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zack Cockrell in the studio, hinting at new projects. The caption “Working on some exciting stuff!” fueled speculation about a potential reunion album.

Yesterday, the band announced their first full show since 2017, headlining the Twin Cities Summer Jam in St. Paul, Minnesota, from July 18-20. The festival will also feature performances by Green Day, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and Hozier.

Howard’s Grammy appearance adds to her already impressive accolades. She has previously won four Grammys with Alabama Shakes and one as a solo artist. This year, she is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for her sophomore solo effort, “What Now.”

The 2025 Grammys, hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, will air live from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on CBS and Paramount+ from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Central Time. Other performers include Billie Eilish, Shakira, and Teddy Swims.

Howard’s involvement in the Quincy Jones tribute underscores her status as one of music’s most versatile and respected artists. Fans eagerly await her next moves, both on stage and in the studio.
