Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame to Induct 14 New Honorees in 2025

NEW YORK, April 2, 2025 — The Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame will welcome 14 new honorees into its 2025 cohort, including acclaimed actress Drew Barrymore, Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Paramount Co-CEO George Cheeks. The gala event is scheduled for September 30 at New York’s Ziegfeld Ballroom.
This year, the Hall of Fame will also present the Iconic Show Award to the venerable daytime drama “Days of our Lives,” celebrating its remarkable 60-year run. Additionally, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro will receive the Chairman’s Award for his significant contributions to Disney’s media landscape, while Ralph will be honored with the Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts through the DIVA Foundation.

Drew Barrymore is celebrated not only for her acting career but also for her work as a director and producer, particularly through her production company, Flower Films. Her influence extends beyond the screen as she leads “The Drew Barrymore Show,” where she connects with audiences daily.
Sheryl Lee Ralph, known for her role in the popular series “Abbott Elementary,” is receiving the Humanitarian Award for her impactful work through the DIVA Foundation, which empowers women in the arts. Ralph’s dual contributions as an artist and philanthropist are recognized as exemplary within the industry.
The gala will also honor several other distinguished figures, including Kristin Dolan, CEO of AMC Networks; Richard A. “Dick” Foreman, president of Richard A. Foreman Associates; Michael Gelman, executive producer of “Live with Kelly & Mark”; David Kline, president of Spectrum Reach; and Mark Marshall, chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal.
Melani Griffith, chief growth officer at Google Fiber, will receive the Technology Leadership Award, highlighting the critical intersection of technology and media today.
The evening promises to be a celebration of legacy and progress in the television industry. A portion of the gala’s proceeds will support The Broadcasters Foundation of America, which aids those in the broadcasting community facing significant hardship. Through these efforts, the Hall of Fame not only recognizes individual success but also fosters a spirit of community and support.
