A night of excitement unfolded for a Brompton man as he became the sole winner of the division one prize in the Weekday Windfall draw, taking home a substantial $1 million. The auspicious event occurred during draw number 4456 on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The Adelaide resident expressed his disbelief and jubilation upon realizing his newfound millionaire status.

In an interview with an official from The Lott, the man revealed his immediate reaction to the news, saying, “Thank you very much! It’s life-changing for us. It’s just incredible. I can finally pay off my mortgage so no more thinking about that!” He recounted checking his ticket just before bedtime, not expecting such an outcome. “I didn’t believe it! I quickly went to the bathroom, washed my face and checked again. I had to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!” he exclaimed with excitement.

The man purchased his winning 25-game QuickPick entry through the official home of Australia’s lotteries, having recently switched from choosing favourite regular numbers to buying QuickPicks, a decision he now celebrates. The winning numbers for the draw were 20, 39, 42, 26, 5, and 25, with supplementary numbers 36 and 17.

This win marks the 360th division one victory in Australia for the current year, with 25 of those won by SA Lotteries customers. Nationwide, The Lott has made 98 millionaires this fiscal year, creating substantial wealth through its various lottery draws.

Additionally, in the same draw, 12 players, including two from Western Australia, each secured a division two prize of $5,007.05. This success follows closely behind another win in the region, where a West Australian attendee won $1,290,825.58 in a previous Saturday Lotto draw.

Zoe Wender, a spokesperson for Lotterywest, noted the continued success in the region, stating, “This makes our 49th division one win so far this year, with these players sharing in more than $65 million.”
