Wests Tigers faced off against the Broncos in an enthralling NRLW trial match at Suncorp Stadium, with the Broncos emerging victorious in a 28-16 scoreline.

The game, marking the first pre-season outing for both teams, showcased a thrilling contest with a total of seven tries scored, highlighting the attacking prowess of both sides.

Playing in three 25-minute thirds, the match kicked off with Wests Tigers opening the scoring through winger Tess Staines, setting the tone for an action-packed encounter.

Despite an initial lead by Wests Tigers, the Broncos responded strongly with three unanswered tries to take control of the game and lead 12-4 at the end of the first third.

Front-rower Sarah Togatuki’s try and a score from Rikeya Horne brought Wests Tigers back into contention, leveling the scores at 12-12 with just over half an hour played.

However, the Broncos regained their momentum with Ali Brigginshaw‘s try, extending their lead further and asserting dominance in the second third of the match.

In a display of resilience, Wests Tigers continued to fight back, with new signing Claudia Nielsen making her presence felt with a try in the third period of the game.

Despite Wests Tigers’ efforts, the Broncos sealed the victory with late tries from Jada Ferguson and Chelsea Lenarduzzi, capping off an exciting NRLW trial match at Suncorp Stadium.
