Brooklyn Nets’ Dariq Whitehead Out with Knee Injury Ahead of Thunder Game

Brooklyn, NY — Dariq Whitehead of the Brooklyn Nets will miss the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 26, 2025, due to a right knee injury. This marks another setback for the rookie, who has faced several injuries this season.
Whitehead’s absence comes slightly after recovering from a concussion that sidelined him for multiple games. The injury concerns have limited his performance this year, with the guard participating in only six games and averaging 6.0 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game.
His injury poses potential challenges for the Nets, who are still looking to solidify their playoff positioning. In Whitehead’s absence, teammates Cam Thomas and Keon Johnson are expected to step up in their roles. “Cam and Keon have been eager to take advantage of any opportunity they get,” head coach J.B. Bickerstaff commented. “With Dariq out, it’s their time to shine.”
The Nets will head into the matchup against the Thunder on a quest to maintain momentum despite the latest roster changes. Coach Bickerstaff emphasized the need for the team to adapt quickly, stating, “We have depth, and we need to use it. Each player has to understand their role to keep us competitive.”
The team’s overall performance will depend heavily on how they adjust to these injuries as they continue their campaign amid a competitive season.
