Cu Buffs Football Game Day Preparations

Boulder, Colorado — The University of Colorado Buffaloes will face off against Iowa State at Folsom Field on October 11. Fans are encouraged to embrace the game day spirit, whether they are attending in person, hosting a viewing party, or cheering from home.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, October 10, at 7 p.m. with the annual Pearl Street Stampede. This fall tradition features the Golden Buffalo Marching Band, the Colorado Spirit Squad, and players from the CU Buffs football team. The stampede will begin in front of the courthouse and will move west along the Pearl Street Mall, stopping to perform on each block.

On Saturday, game day starts early with a student tailgate from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Farrand Field. Hosted by the Division of Student Life and the Dean of Students, the event will offer free food, games, music, and the chance to be selected as a Buffs spirit ambassador.

For those attending the game at Folsom Field, it’s important to remember the values that Buffs uphold. Fans are encouraged to show respect and integrity, regardless of where they are watching the game. Whether in the stadium, a local restaurant, or at a friend’s house, being considerate to those around you is essential.

If you’re watching from off-campus, pay attention to noise levels to avoid nuisance tickets. Excessive noise can lead to fines, so being mindful of your surroundings is key. Additionally, if you’re hosting a party, consider registering with Off-Campus Life to receive a 20-minute warning before police are dispatched in case of noise complaints.

As Buffs, everyone is encouraged to look out for one another, contributing to a positive and respectful game day experience.
