FULLERTON, Calif. — Destiny Morris, a 19-year-old junior at California State University, Fullerton, passed away on November 14. Morris was a cherished member of the Titans Dance Team, leaving her teammates and the campus community in mourning.
Known for her bright smile and infectious personality, Destiny joined the prestigious Titans Dance Team for the 2025-2026 season. Her determination and dedication inspired many. Bella Escabedo, a fellow dancer, remembered her as a source of positivity. “Destiny was determined, dedicated, and a breath of fresh air,” Escabedo said. “She never failed to have a smile on her face.”
Beyond dance, Morris was a junior studying diligently at CSUF. She was also an active member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and contributed as a writer and model for Tusk Magazine. The Zeta Tau Alpha community expressed their sorrow, stating, “Destiny’s smile and laughter truly lit up every room.”
The Titans Dance Team plans to honor Morris with a special tribute on December 4 during the Men’s Basketball Big West Conference Home Opener against Cal Poly. A moment of silence will take place during the game.
Additionally, By Your Side Dance Studio, where Destiny trained, has established a GoFundMe for a memorial fund. Owner Deborah Perez announced that an in-person memorial service will also be held at the studio, with further details coming soon.
For students coping with grief, CSUF’s Counseling and Psychological Services offers free and confidential mental health support. Her teammates continue to rally together, planning to wear special tributes during upcoming performances to honor Destiny’s legacy and spirit.
Destiny recently achieved her dream of being part of the Titans Dance Team, joining just after they won their 20th National Championship. Her creativity also shone through her work in Tusk Magazine, which is set to feature her contributions in an upcoming edition.
“We will always and forever be dancing for you, Destiny,” her teammates pledged. Morris’s resilience and passion will be remembered by all who knew her.
