Calgary Flames Face Injury Setback Ahead Of Showdown With Colorado Avalanche

The Calgary Flames are gearing up to face off against the Colorado Avalanche tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome, but they’ve hit a snag with their starting goaltender. Jacob Markstrom, a key player for the Flames, is listed as day-to-day due to a lower-body injury, leaving the team scrambling to adjust their lineup.

To compensate for Markstrom’s absence, the Flames have recalled Dustin Wolf from their AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers. Dan Vladar, who took the morning skate as usual, is expected to step in as the starting goaltender in Markstrom’s place.

In preparation for the game, the Flames held their morning skate, solidifying their lineup that will face the Avalanche. The projected lines include Jonathan Huberdeau, Yegor Sharangovich, and Andrei Kuzmenko leading the charge up front.

On the defensive end, Oliver Kylington and Rasmus Andersson are set to anchor the blue line for the Flames, alongside MacKenzie Weegar and Daniil Miromanov. Joel Hanley and Brayden Pachal round out the defensive pairings for Calgary.

With Markstrom sidelined, all eyes will be on Vladar as he takes on the high-powered offense of the Colorado Avalanche. The Flames will need to bring their A-game to fend off top Avalanche players like Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
