Calgary Flames Vs Seattle Kraken

The Calgary Flames are set to face the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, in a highly anticipated NHL matchup. The Flames have started the season on a high note, currently undefeated, and will be looking to secure their fifth consecutive win. This impressive run has taken many NHL followers by surprise and has set the Flames as a powerhouse in the early season games.

Andrei Kuzmenko, a key player for the Flames, expressed his enthusiasm about the team’s performance. “After hard work on ice, we have good results, it’s a good start to the season,” he shared during an interview at WinSport. Emphasizing the need to focus on upcoming games, Kuzmenko added, “But this is (the) past, it doesn’t matter, we need the next game.”

Supporting Kuzmenko in the lineup, players like Matt Coronato, Justin Kirkland, and Tyson Barrie have proven their mettle with substantial contributions when called upon. Kuzmenko himself, on a roll with his scoring abilities, mentioned the importance of maintaining his performance, particularly during power plays. “I need to play better,” he acknowledged, “I need to help my team (on the) powerplay.”

Head coach Ryan Huska chimed in positively about Kuzmenko’s performance, highlighting his dynamism on the ice. “I do feel like he’s more of a threat, or a dangerous player, when his feet are moving,” Huska stated. “The push from us to him always is about making sure you’re making plays, and you’re creating with your feet moving.”

As the Flames gear up for this clash, the Seattle Kraken similarly head into tonight’s game on the back of their own successes, having won 6-4 against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Kraken stand tied for second place in the Pacific Division, boasting a record of 3-2-0.

Jordan Eberle, newly appointed as the Kraken’s captain, has been instrumental in their recent games, having scored four goals in five matches. Joining Eberle in offensive successes, Jared McCann, Eeli Tolvanen, and Oliver Bjorkstrand have also been significant contributors to the team’s tally of 13 goals in just two games.

Both teams are employing rotating goalkeepers as part of their strategy this season. For Seattle, Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord have had starts, with Daccord recently securing a five-year, $25 million contract extension. Meanwhile, the Flames’ lineup also remains flexible, a tactic that has worked well for both franchises.

Remarkably, the Flames have maintained a flawless record in their visits to the Kraken’s home arena, a trend they hope to continue. Historically, Calgary has excelled in Seattle, achieving a perfect score in their past encounters.

Key players to watch include Flames forward Matt Coronato, coming off an impressive two-goal game, and Kraken forward Jared McCann, who is on the cusp of reaching a milestone as the first to score 100 goals for the franchise. As both teams prepare to compete, fans anticipate an exciting and competitive match.
