Campus Acquires AI Startup to Enhance Student Learning Experience
HOUSTON, Texas — Campus, a two-year accredited school backed by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, announced the acquisition of the AI startup Sizzle AI on October 10, 2025. This move aims to revolutionize the educational experience for its students through artificial intelligence technology.
Founded by Tade Oyerinde, Campus has secured over $100 million from investors, including O’Neal, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Discord Founder Jason Citron. The institution provides various programs, including business administration and information technology, with a focus on applied AI. Additionally, students can earn diplomas in fields like cosmetology and medical assisting.
Oyerinde emphasized the school’s commitment to reducing student debt, stating, “We did not want to add $1 to the pile of student debt in this country… That’s super key for me,” during an interview on the “Black Tech Green Money” podcast.
The acquisition of Sizzle AI accelerates Campus’s goal of enhancing student instruction. Sizzle AI, founded by Jerome Pesenti, a former Meta AI chief, allows students to learn through interactive, AI-generated content. Oyerinde remarked, “Acquiring Sizzle accelerates our engineering roadmap by 2-3 years — they’ve built the best AI team in education and their infrastructure is so far ahead of anyone else.”
Pesenti added, “Big Tech has spent years building AI to keep people scrolling. But we’re harnessing the potential of the very same technology to cultivate thought, encourage inquiry, and deepen human relationships.” With this acquisition, Campus aims to empower teachers and provide students with a customized learning experience that adapts to their unique needs.
