Cardinals Re-sign Veteran Tackle Kelvin Beachum for 2025 Season

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday morning that they have re-signed swing tackle Kelvin Beachum to a one-year contract. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Beachum, who joined the Cardinals in 2020, has been a significant contributor to the team’s offensive line, starting 62 of the 75 games he has played since his arrival. In 2024, he stepped into a starting role due to injuries to right tackle Jonah Williams, starting a total of 12 games while playing in all 16 contests.
“Kelvin has been an invaluable asset both on the field and in the locker room,” said Cardinals General Manager Monti Ossenfort. “His experience and leadership will be crucial as we continue to develop our offensive line heading into the next season.”
During the past season, Beachum managed to achieve a 75.4 pass-blocking grade, showcasing his ability to protect quarterback Kyler Murray. His performance contributed to the Cardinals boasting the seventh-best rushing offense in the NFL, averaging 144.2 rushing yards per game and allowing only 30 sacks.
The re-signing of Beachum is part of a larger strategy by the Cardinals as they focus on maintaining consistency along the offensive line. They have also extended the contract of left guard Evan Brown with a two-year deal reportedly worth $11.5 million. Brown started all 17 games during the last season and proved effective in both run blocking and pass protection.
The Cardinals are still navigating free agency as they seek to fill other gaps in the offensive line. Williams, who faced knee injuries throughout the previous season, is also in a contractual limbo as he enters free agency. Meanwhile, backup guard Trystan Colon is expected to enter the market as well.
Beachum’s transition from right tackle to left tackle, particularly when Paris Johnson Jr. sustained an injury late last season, highlighted his versatility. His experience as a veteran in the league will be beneficial to younger players like Isaiah Adams, who is anticipated to continue developing in the upcoming season.
Beachum, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, has played a total of 179 career games. Having spent time with the Jaguars and Jets before his tenure with the Cardinals, Beachum has established himself as a reliable presence across the offensive line.
The Cardinals are gearing up for the 2025 regular season, with Beachum now on board for his sixth season in Arizona, marking his 14th in the league.
As the March 13 deadline approaches for teams to finalize contracts with free agents, the Cardinals’ swift action in retaining Beachum and Brown presents a proactive approach to solidifying their offensive strategy for the upcoming season.
