Carolina Panthers Promote Former Titans First-Round Pick Caleb Farley to Active Roster
The Carolina Panthers have announced the promotion of former Tennessee Titans first-round pick Caleb Farley to their active roster. This move, confirmed by Farley’s agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, marks a significant step in the cornerback’s journey to rebuild his NFL career.
Farley, 26, was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the 22nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, his career was hampered by an ACL injury during his rookie season and a disk injury that required surgery in 2022. After being cut by the Titans following the preseason, Farley signed with the Panthers’ practice squad on October 1, 2024.
Farley has been elevated to the 53-man roster for the past three games, showcasing his potential. In a recent game against the New York Giants in Munich, Germany, he played a season-high 23 snaps, contributing to the Panthers’ 20-17 victory. Panthers General Manager Dan Morgan praised Farley’s performance, highlighting his athleticism and ability to transition and run effectively.
Farley’s personal life has also been a significant factor in his decision to join the Panthers. Originally from North Carolina, he has moved back to his childhood home in Hickory, which is about an hour’s commute from the Panthers’ facility. This move has allowed him to feel closer to his family, particularly after the recent loss of his father in a gas leak explosion in 2023.
The promotion to the active roster is a testament to Farley’s hard work and the positive impressions he has made on the team. With the Panthers out of practice squad elevations, this move was seen as an anticipated step in his career resurgence..
