Celtic Fc Arne Engels Transfer News

Celtic Football Club has reportedly agreed to pay a club-record transfer fee for Augsburg midfielder Arne Engels. The Scottish champions will pay £11 million for the 20-year-old talent, following multiple rejected bids for the player.

Engels is expected to arrive in Glasgow on Friday to undergo a medical examination and finalize his move to the club. Augsburg has also included a 20 percent sell-on clause in the transfer agreement.

Last season, Engels contributed three goals and two assists in 33 appearances, showcasing his potential as a promising midfielder. This acquisition comes in light of Celtic’s recent loss of Matt O'Riley, as well as the team’s intent to enhance their squad ahead of the closing of the transfer window.

With this transfer, Engels becomes the fourth new signing for Celtic this season, joining Kasper Schmeichel, Viljami Sinisalo, and Alex Valle. The club is looking to bolster its roster as the transfer window approaches its final hours.

Celtic’s previous transfer record stood at £9 million for striker Odsonne Edouard. The negotiations to finalize Engels’ transfer demonstrate the club’s commitment to strengthening their team for the upcoming season.
