Chargers’ Key Players Active for Playoff Opener Against Texans
The Los Angeles Chargers will have several key players available for their playoff opener against the Houston Texans on Saturday, despite injury concerns. Running back J.K. Dobbins, receiver Quentin Johnston, and linebacker Denzel Perryman are all active after being listed as questionable earlier in the week.
Dobbins, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, was a limited participant in practice throughout the week. Johnston, who battled a thigh injury and illness, missed one practice but is cleared to play. Perryman, recovering from a groin injury, was upgraded to full participation by Wednesday.
However, offensive tackle Trey Pipkins will miss the game due to an oblique injury. Cornerback Eli Apple and receiver Simi Fehoko, recently activated from injured reserve, are also active for the Chargers.
On the Texans’ side, defensive end Denico Autry, receiver John Metchie, and linebacker Christian Harris are all active despite being questionable earlier in the week. Guard Shaq Mason and defensive tackle Kurt Hinish are among the inactives for Houston.
The Chargers are coming off a strong Week 18 performance, with Johnston recording a career-high 13 catches for 186 yards. His presence will be crucial as the team looks to advance in the playoffs.
