Charros De Jalisco Vs Tomateros De Culiacán Baseball Game

CULIACÁN, Mexico — The Charros de Jalisco are one win away from clinching the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico (LMP) championship as they face the Tomateros de Culiacán in Game 6 of the final series Tuesday night. The game, set for 7:30 p.m. at Estadio Tomateros, could secure Jalisco’s third LMP title and a spot in the upcoming Serie del Caribe.

Ronald Medrano, a Nicaraguan pitcher, will take the mound for the Charros. Medrano has been a reliable force throughout the playoffs, boasting a 3.26 ERA over 19.1 innings. In Game 2 of the series, he delivered six innings, allowing only three hits and one run, helping Jalisco secure a crucial 2-1 victory in 14 innings.

The Charros currently lead the series 3-2 after a hard-fought Game 5 win. A victory tonight would crown them champions, while a loss would force a decisive Game 7 on Wednesday. “We’re focused and ready,” said Medrano. “This is what we’ve worked for all season.”

On the opposing side, Manny Barreda will pitch for the Tomateros. Barreda, who made his MLB debut with the Baltimore Orioles in 2021, has been a key player for Culiacán. In Game 2, he matched Medrano’s performance with six innings, allowing only two hits and striking out two batters.

The series has been a nail-biter, with four of the five games decided by a single run. Fans can watch the game live on the LMP’s YouTube channel or on Canal 6 in Guadalajara. Online betting platform Caliente.mx lists the Tomateros as slight favorites, with odds of -175 compared to the Charros’ +125.

If the Charros win, they will represent Mexico in the Serie del Caribe, scheduled to take place in Mexicali from January 31 to February 7. The Tomateros, however, are determined to extend the series and keep their championship hopes alive. “We know what’s at stake,” said Barreda. “We’re not going down without a fight.”
