Chelsea Green Pushes for TNA Crossover Match Against Masha Slamovich
ORLANDO, Fla. — WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green is eyeing a potential crossover match in TNA, reigniting her connection with the promotion where she previously held championship gold. During a recent appearance on a wrestling podcast, Green revealed she has been pitching the idea to TNA backstage producer Tommy Dreamer.
“I’m actually so happy Tommy’s here too because I have been sending him numerous texts trying to get on TNA,” Green said. “Now he’s in front of me, he’s got to answer me. What do you think—maybe me versus Masha [Slamovich], winner takes all [for the WWE Women’s United States and TNA Knockouts Championships]?”
Dreamer, a veteran wrestler and current TNA producer, responded cautiously, noting the complexity of such a match. “If you would like it. That’s a little above my pay grade,” he said. Green, known for her charisma, quipped, “I feel like I am Miss America. Lady Liberty.”
Green has a storied history with TNA, previously competing under the ring name Laurel Van Ness from 2016 to 2018, during which she captured the Knockouts Championship. She returned to the promotion in 2021 under her real name, teaming with Deonna Purrazzo to win the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship.
The potential crossover comes amid a growing partnership between WWE and TNA, which was officially announced on January 16, 2024. The collaboration has sparked speculation about more inter-promotional matches, with Green’s proposal being one of the most talked-about possibilities.
Green also reflected on her past, including a viral 2018 match against Penta El Zero Miedo, which she described as one of the craziest of her career. “I owe everything to Penta for that match. He, seriously, held my hand and wrestled me through that 15-minute match,” she said. While a rematch in WWE remains a possibility, Green joked, “Now that Penta’s with WWE, I can’t wait to beat him up.”
As of now, no official plans for Green’s TNA appearance have been confirmed. Fans will have to wait to see if the “winner takes all” match against Masha Slamovich becomes a reality.
