Chicago Bulls Josh Giddey Basketball Game Action

CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey, who has been managing a hip injury, has been cleared to play in Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Giddey, who has appeared in every game this month despite being listed on the injury report, is expected to maintain his role as a key contributor.

The 21-year-old guard has been a consistent presence for the Bulls, averaging 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game this season. His availability comes as a relief for the team, especially with fellow guard Alex Caruso (illness) listed as uncertain for Friday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.

“Giddey has been playing through discomfort, but he’s shown tremendous resilience,” said Bulls head coach Billy Donovan. “His ability to contribute across multiple categories makes him invaluable to our rotation.”

Fantasy basketball managers have also taken note of Giddey’s durability and versatility. Despite the hip issue, he remains a top option in most fantasy formats, particularly in leagues that reward rebounds and assists. “He’s a triple-double threat every night,” said ESPN fantasy analyst Mike Clay. “Even if his scoring dips, his all-around game keeps him relevant.”

Giddey’s return to full health comes at a critical juncture for the Bulls, who are fighting to secure a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The team currently sits at 19-22, just outside the play-in tournament picture.

As for his long-term outlook, Giddey remains optimistic. “I’ve been working closely with the medical staff to manage the injury,” he said. “I’m feeling better each day and ready to help the team win.”

The Bulls will face the Trail Blazers on Sunday at the United Center, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
