Chicago Med Season 10 Midseason Premiere

CHICAGO, Ill. — Fans of NBC‘s hit medical drama Chicago Med were left on the edge of their seats after the show’s midseason finale in November 2024, and the winter premiere promises to deliver even more suspense. The fall finale ended with a shocking cliffhanger as Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), the hospital’s chief administrator, was stabbed by a stalker and left bleeding in her office. Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) narrowly missed rescuing her as the elevator doors closed, leaving viewers desperate for answers.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Weber teased that the midseason premiere, airing on January 8, 2025, will not disappoint. “If you love Chicago Med — and who doesn’t? — you won’t be disappointed at what she delivers and what the show delivers,” he said. The episode, titled “No Love Lost,” will see the medical team rallying to save Goodwin’s life while navigating their own personal and professional challenges.

Weber’s character, Dr. Archer, will play a pivotal role in the aftermath of the attack. “He’s gonna take action. If we know Archer, we know that he’s going to do his best [to save her],” Weber explained. The former Navy surgeon, who had previously submitted his resignation, will be forced to confront his emotional barriers and his bond with Goodwin. “This incident really affects him, and it affects him emotionally down the line,” Weber added.

The midseason premiere will also explore the dynamics between the hospital staff as they grapple with the trauma of Goodwin’s attack. Weber hinted that the incident will reveal “how emotionally bonded everybody in the ED is” and that justice for Goodwin and consequences for her attacker are “coming.”

Meanwhile, new doctors like Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos) continue to shake up the Emergency Department, adding tension and fresh storylines. The episode will also address Dr. Asher‘s (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) efforts to help a religious young woman with an ectopic pregnancy, further highlighting the show’s commitment to tackling complex medical and ethical dilemmas.

As Chicago Med enters its 10th season, the cast and crew reflect on the show’s enduring success. Oliver Platt, who plays Dr. Daniel Charles, described the set as a “family reunion” and expressed gratitude for the show’s dedicated fanbase. “We’re so lucky that they all want to come back,” Platt said of the cast and crew. “It’s sort of like there’s a family reunion happening at the beginning of every season.”

With new episodes airing every Wednesday at 8/7c on NBC and available for streaming the next day on Peacock, fans can expect more high-stakes drama, emotional moments, and medical mysteries as Chicago Med continues its landmark season.
