LOS ANGELES, CA – Actress Chloë Sevigny is expressing interest in reprising her role as Jean in the upcoming remake of ‘American Psycho,’ directed by Luca Guadagnino. Sevigny originally portrayed the character of Patrick Bateman‘s secretary in the 2000 film, directed by Mary Harron. Upon learning of Guadagnino’s plans for a new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis‘ controversial novel, she reached out to the filmmaker to suggest she return to the role.

“I pitched to him that I should play Jean again and that they do that reverse-aging on me,” Sevigny said in a recent interview. “I thought that would be something that he would be into, conceptually having the same actress play the same part.” However, she noted that Guadagnino hinted at exploring different options for her.

The casting process for ‘American Psycho’ is ongoing, with both the role of Jean and the lead character of Patrick Bateman still being decided. The original Bateman was famously played by Christian Bale, and several actors have been rumored for the role in the remake, including Austin Butler and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Kerry Barden, the original film’s casting director, shared last month that he believes Austin Butler would be more suitable for the role of Paul Allen, saying, “I would cast Austin in Jared’s role because he’s that beautiful.” Barden emphasized that beauty played a significant role in casting Jared Leto initially for ‘American Psycho.’

Patrick Schwarzenegger also expressed interest in playing Bateman, recently tweeting, “I’d love nothing more,” alongside a winking emoticon. The buzz around the film continues as fans eagerly await the announcement of the final cast.

Guadagnino’s ‘American Psycho’ is being developed under Lionsgate, with a screenplay written by Scott Z. Burns. A release date for the highly anticipated film has yet to be revealed.
