Chris Judd Reveals Why He Shaves His Head

Chris Judd, the famous AFL star, has opened up about the surprising reason he decided to shave his head almost 20 years ago. The 40-year-old is known for his bald look, but it wasn’t always his first choice.

During a recent appearance on the show The Front Bar, Chris revealed that it was his mother, Lisa Engel, who had the tough conversation with him. After seeing a newspaper picture of Chris from the 2006 AFL Grand Final, Lisa thought it was time for a change.

Chris recounted how Lisa sat him down and said, ‘I think it’s time to shave it.’ He admitted that his hair was looking a bit flimsy at the front. While he thought he could hang on to his locks for a little while longer, it seems his mother’s opinion convinced him otherwise.

When asked why he didn’t just ignore her advice, Chris humorously indicated that when someone who cares about you makes the effort to say something, there’s a good chance they might be right. This led to his iconic bald look, which fans have come to recognize.

In a light-hearted moment, Chris also mentioned that he hasn’t completely ruled out the idea of getting a hair transplant in Turkey. Besides discussing his own hair, he showed support for fellow footballer Ben Cousins, who is making a comeback on Dancing With The Stars.

Chris, who also praised Ben’s determination in the competition, expressed how great it is to see him having fun and trying something new. Ben himself acknowledged Chris’s support, calling him ‘all class.’

Ben Cousins had a successful career with the West Coast Eagles but faced significant personal struggles over the years. The acknowledgment from Chris highlights a supportive camaraderie among former teammates, especially during challenging times.
