Chris Pratt’s Lung Infections Tied to Cigar Ritual with Arnold Schwarzenegger

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Actor Chris Pratt revealed that he has contracted lung infections following the births of three of his children, a situation he attributes to a celebratory cigar ritual with his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
During an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show,’ Pratt explained that despite his asthma, he feels pressured to participate in smoking a cigar whenever a new baby arrives. “[Arnold] is a big cigar smoker – he’s always smoking one on set, in his car, and in my living room,” Pratt said. “When we have a baby, he shows up with a Cuban cigar. I have asthma so I should not ever smoke cigars, but I do because I feel pressure from Arnold Schwarzenegger. So, every time I have a child, I have a cigar, and about a week later I have a lung infection. It’s a nice little ritual we have.”
Pratt, 45, is the father of four children: a 12-year-old son, Jack, with his first wife, Anna Faris, and three children with current wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, including Lyla, 4, Eloise, 2, and 3-month-old Ford. His lung health concerns are compounded by the frequent partying with Schwarzenegger, a longtime cigar enthusiast.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ star emphasized the importance of family and how they influence his decisions. He shared that he nearly refused a new role in ‘The Electric State’ because he wanted to take a break from work to focus on his family. However, Katherine insisted he take the project after reading the script. “We have four kids, so I wanted to take an extended period off, but when my wife read the script, she said I had to do it. She either really loves me or she actually just wanted me out of the house again,” he joked.
Pratt described his youngest son Ford as a “really chill baby,” noting that while Katherine is often up for late-night feedings, Ford tends to sleep well at night. “He’s not colicky or anything, he’s not super loud. He’s got this look on his face at all times that I just call resting bewilderment face. He’s like this. Like everything he sees, he’s like, ‘Yes, this is great!'”
In addition to discussing family life, Pratt humorously commented on his brother-in-law Patrick’s nude scene in an upcoming film. “I know where my eyes went — I’m not blood-related to him, I was looking at that d***, bro. No, he looks amazing,” Pratt remarked, praising Patrick’s physique and acting abilities.
