Cleveland Guardians Home Opener Baseball Game

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Guardians are set to start their 2025 baseball season with a highly anticipated home opener against the Chicago White Sox on April 8 at Progressive Field, kicking off at 4:10 p.m. Local fans are eager to embrace the return of baseball as the team unveils several exciting upgrades to the ballpark.

While tickets for the home opener have sold out, die-hard fans can still secure access through the Ballpark Pass, which offers a mobile Standing Room Only ticket for only $54 per month, covering all home games in April.

To manage the expected influx of attendees, Cleveland police have announced that parking restrictions will be in effect from 9 a.m. on game day until midnight. Streets around Progressive Field may temporarily close to accommodate traffic flow. “We are working closely with event management to ensure fans have a smooth experience,” a police spokesperson said.

This year’s home opener offers fanatics a first look at the recently completed renovations at Progressive Field. Notably, the newly revamped Terrace Hall is a modern beer hall designed to create a social atmosphere, showcasing local craft beers amidst stylish decor that includes an innovative CLEVELAND bar globe light feature.

The Guardians also introduced the KeyBank North Coast Social area, featuring semi-private open-air Terrace Box seating and an upscale indoor lounge inspired by mid-century design. “We want to offer a unique experience that blends the excitement of the game with a vibrant social setting,” said a Guardians representative.

The exclusive ECHO® Victory Club, located on the fourth floor, is another addition set to enhance the game-day experience for fans. Throughout the season, renovations will continue on the Lexus Carnegie Club, with completion expected in early May.

In terms of seating, Progressive Field will see new blue seats introduced in both the Lower and Upper Bowls. This is part of a larger project, with plans to finalize all seating renovations by the beginning of the 2026 season.

The Guardians Team Store will be back in its original location, featuring a modernized open floor design that enhances the shopping experience. Fans can expect an expanded range of merchandise, including new on-field uniforms that fans can customize at a dedicated personalization station. The Team Store will open at 10 a.m. on Opening Day and will remain open until 30 minutes postgame.

In addition to these developments, several new concession stands are set to open around the stadium. Notably, the former Melt stand has been replaced by CLE Steak, and La Cava Du Vin will be located in the previous Wine & Whiskey space. Two new marketplaces, Hot Corner and Forest City Marketplace, will join the lineup in the left-field concourse and upper concourse, respectively.

As the excitement builds in Greater Cleveland, local bars and restaurants are gearing up for the festivities surrounding the home opener, ensuring that fans without tickets can still partake in the celebration of the team’s return to action.
