2025 Club World Cup Set to Capture Global Soccer Fans

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida — The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is gearing up to provide exhilarating competition for soccer fans worldwide. The tournament, set to begin on June 14, will feature 32 teams competing for glory across 11 U.S. cities.
This year’s edition marks a significant expansion of the event, which FIFA previously modified from seven teams to include more participants. With historic clubs from Europe, South America, and beyond, the tournament aims to become a marquee event on the global soccer calendar.
Newly-crowned European champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will participate, reflecting the serious approach clubs are taking. For instance, major teams like Real Madrid are accelerating summer transfer activities to prepare for the competition.
The Club World Cup will include representations from FIFA’s seven continental federations. Twelve teams will come from Europe, with six from South America, while Asia, Africa, and North/Central America each contribute four teams. Oceania will feature one representative, and the final spot is reserved for the host nation’s team.
Participating teams were determined through performances in their respective continental tournaments. For example, the UEFA Champions League and Copa Libertadores winners automatically qualify, while others secure their spots based on consistent performances.
The tournament will kick off with an opening match featuring Inter Miami and Al Ahly at Hard Rock Stadium, followed by a group stage running until June 26. After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will move to the knockout rounds, culminating with the final at MetLife Stadium on July 14.
DAZN will serve as the primary broadcaster for the event, providing worldwide coverage in a groundbreaking $1 billion deal. In an effort to enhance accessibility, all matches will be available for free streaming. Regional broadcasters like Channel 5 in the UK and TNT Sports in the U.S. are also on board to deliver extensive coverage.
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is poised to be a landmark event in club soccer, offering fans an exciting month of world-class matches.
