Congress Accuses Bjp Of Financial Oppression Ahead Of Lok Sabha Elections

The Indian National Congress, led by Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, fired back at the BJP, accusing them of financial oppression as the Lok Sabha elections approach. In a press conference, the Congress leaders highlighted the challenges they are facing, alleging a systematic effort by the BJP to cripple them financially and ensure a level playing field.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister, DV Sadananda Gowda, expressed his disappointment with the BJP after being denied a ticket to contest from Bangalore North in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Despite his upset, he clarified that he has no plans to join the Congress and instead aims to reform the BJP’s state unit.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has found itself embroiled in the controversy surrounding Electoral Bonds, with the issue escalating to the Supreme Court. The SC has deemed the Electoral Bonds scheme illegal and unconstitutional, shedding light on the BJP’s massive financial inflows through this channel.

On a different front, DMK leader M K Stalin unveiled the party’s manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls, vowing to reverse contentious BJP decisions such as the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and Uniform Civil Code. The manifesto also emphasized curbing the powers of Raj Bhavans and restoring J&K’s statehood.

In a significant move, the National Medical Commission rescheduled the NEET PG exam to June 23, aligning it with the election schedule to avoid conflicts. This decision aims to ensure a smooth conduct of both the medical entrance exam and the Lok Sabha polls.

Lastly, the IT Directorate in Delhi has set up a 24×7 Control Room and a toll-free helpline to monitor cash movements and prevent the influence of black money during the election period. This proactive measure seeks to uphold the integrity of the electoral process in the National Capital Territory.
