Controversies Unfold in Bigg Boss 18 Featuring Marathi Participants
The 18th season of the popular reality television show ‘Bigg Boss‘, hosted by renowned Bollywood actor Salman Khan, has commenced with significant attention and controversy. Known for its dramatic narratives, the current season features 18 participants, including two prominent Marathi personalities, actress Shilpa Shirodkar and lawyer Gunratna Sadavarte. This diverse lineup also includes a donkey, adding an unusual element to the mix.
From the outset, tensions have escalated in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house with conflicts emerging over trivial matters such as meal distributions and bed allocations. The first task set for the contestants resulted in an inadequate performance leading to limited ration supplies, further intensifying friction among the participants. A notable incident, captured in a viral promotional video shared by Colors TV on social media, highlights a breach of house rules by a contestant, stirring additional controversy.
In this promotional clip, Gunratna Sadavarte, seen outside the house jail, is shown communicating with Hema Sharma, who pens down a number using nail polish on a packet of bindis. Sadavarte, in response to Bigg Boss querying the rule violation, said, “I am not concerned because I come from a lineage of dacoits and know how to handle challenges using my legal knowledge.”
This season, in addition to its unique participant lineup, has sparked discussions through Sadavarte’s polemic statements made in the early days of the show. He has reportedly disclosed his involvement in political maneuvers in Maharashtra, claiming a mission to destabilize the government led by Uddhav Thackeray six months prior. Sadavarte mentioned his efforts in stoking the State Transport (ST) workers’ strike as part of this effort, asserting its recognition even in New York. This narrative has inevitably soared into the limelight amidst the show’s ongoing proceedings.
