Cool Temperatures and Patchy Frost Forecast Across Multiple States

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A broken line of showers is expected to move through areas north of Interstate 80 overnight, with possible rain as temperatures drop to the lower 30s and upper 20s. Residents are advised to cover outdoor plants and bring them indoors as north winds may gust over 35 mph into Saturday morning.
By mid-morning Saturday, skies are forecasted to clear, leading to sunny conditions throughout the day. However, weekend temperatures will remain cool, with highs only reaching the upper 40s to low 50s. The overnight lows will again plunge into the 20s Sunday morning, raising the potential for freezing of above-ground water lines.
In contrast, a warmup is expected later next week, with temperatures climbing near 70 degrees. While isolated showers may arise on Wednesday, the region is predicted to remain mostly dry for the next 10 days.
Meanwhile, in HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT), residents face a Freeze Warning this evening as daytime temperatures struggled to reach the mid to upper 40s. Only the Harlan area saw slightly warmer temperatures in the low 50s. However, a stretch of pleasant weather is anticipated on Wednesday, with highs moving into the upper 50s and low 60s due to a high-pressure system.
As the week progresses, another frontal system could move through, increasing rain chances and dropping temperatures back into the upper 40s and low 50s by Friday and Saturday. But warmer conditions will return by Sunday, with highs reaching into the 60s and low 70s on the upcoming Monday.
The weather forecast for additional areas indicates a potential for patchy frost tonight, especially in regions from Pitt County westward. Lows may hover in the 30s and 40s overnight. Wednesday’s temperatures are expected to remain in the 50s prior to the next rain event set for Thursday night into Friday.
According to Meteorologist Madeline Parker (KFVS), the calm conditions over the Heartland are leading to slightly cooler temperatures with evening lows in the mid-30s. A few showers and possible thunderstorms may emerge by Thursday, with some storms expected to be strong. The week will end with cooler weather and highs in the 50s on Friday, but a warmer weekend is forecasted with temps transitioning into the 70s.
