The crash occurred on Wednesday night, January 29, leaving the music community in mourning.

Travis expressed his grief over the “many souls…lost in the horrific plane crash” and paid tribute to Vaughn, a “dear member of our country music and Warner Music family.” Vaughn, 49, was a prominent figure in the Nashville music scene, and his death has deeply affected artists and industry professionals alike.

Other country music stars, including Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay, Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town, and Craig Morgan, also shared their condolences. Travis announced that he would proceed with the release of his new single, “Horses In Heaven,” on Friday, January 31, as a tribute to the victims and a source of comfort for those grieving.

“Tomorrow’s song release feels like a timely reminder of God’s love and mercy,” Travis said. “I hope it brings some comfort to those of us hurting through these tragedies.” The song follows his groundbreaking 2024 single, “Where That Came From,” which utilized AI technology.

The crash has sent shockwaves through the music industry, with many artists and executives expressing their sorrow on social media. Craig Morgan also shared a clip of his upcoming EP, “American Soundtrack,” set for release on February 28, while Kip Moore announced a series of Canadian tour dates in April.
