Cruzeiro vs. Vasco Moved to Uberlândia Due to Concert Conflict

Belo Horizonte, Brazil — The highly anticipated match between Cruzeiro and Vasco, originally scheduled for April 27, will not take place at the Mineirão Stadium due to a conflict with a concert by singer Gusttavo Lima. The concert, set for April 26, means there will not be adequate time to prepare the stadium for the game. Instead, the match will be relocated to the Parque do Sabiá in Uberlândia.
Cruzeiro had explored the possibility of hosting the game at the Estádio Independência, but ultimately chose the Parque do Sabiá to ensure better accessibility for its fans. A club spokesperson stated, “The decision to move the game to the Triângulo Mineiro reinforces our commitment to our supporters in Minas Gerais. We recognize the passion of our fans and will strive to bring our team closer to them whenever possible.”
The Mineirão stadium management had previously communicated the scheduling conflict to the club well in advance. According to sources from ge, the extensive setup required for the concert would not allow sufficient time for the stadium staff to prepare for the football match. Additionally, facilities within Mineirão would be closed due to the concert preparations.
Before facing Vasco, Cruzeiro will travel to Chile on April 24 to compete against Palestino in the Conmebol Sul-Americana. Following that, the team will head to Rio de Janeiro for a showdown with Flamengo in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
As the season progresses, Cruzeiro hopes to maintain strong connections with its fanbase, particularly as it navigates these logistical challenges.
