Crystal Palace Reaches FA Cup Final with Dominant Victory

LONDON, England – Crystal Palace defeated Aston Villa 3-0 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday to reach the FA Cup final for the first time in nine years. Eberechi Eze opened the scoring with a stunning goal in the first half, and Ismaïla Sarr added two more in the second half to secure the win.
The match marked the third time in the club’s history that Palace has reached the FA Cup final, with previous appearances in 1990 and 2016 ending in losses to Manchester United. Eze expressed confidence in the team’s belief that they could win their first major trophy. “We want to go all the way and we believe we can do it: 100%,” he said.
Coach Oliver Glasner praised his team’s performance, stating, “All the credit to the players. They had to work so hard. We got more control and it was an unbelievable performance today.” Palace will face either Manchester City or Nottingham Forest in the final on May 17.
Villa’s head coach Unai Emery revealed that Marcus Rashford would miss the match due to a hamstring injury, impacting Villa’s chances. “We have to take from our experiences to become more mature. Today we didn’t perform like we have been this season,” Emery said. Captain John McGinn expressed disappointment, stating, “The overriding feeling is hurt and disappointment. We’re going to use the hurt from today to come back stronger next season.”
In front of a vibrant crowd, Palace fans celebrated as Eze’s goal put them ahead in the 31st minute. The home side continued to push, with Sarr striking from long distance shortly after halftime, followed by another goal in stoppage time. The emphatic victory pushes Palace one step closer to their dream of lifting the FA Cup.
