Daeon Amituanai’s Hat-Trick Inspires Penrith Panthers to Victory Over Western Suburbs Magpies
In a thrilling display of rugby league prowess, the Penrith Panthers secured a commanding 30-6 victory over the Western Suburbs Magpies at Lidcombe Oval in Round 17 of the competition.
The Panthers wasted no time asserting their dominance, with winger Daeon Amituanai crossing the try line just three minutes into the match, setting the tone for his exceptional performance.
Not long after, mid-season acquisition Asu Kepaoa added to the Panthers’ lead with a try on the opposite flank, showcasing the team’s versatility and attacking depth.
Winger Nick Murphy then capitalized on the Magpies’ defensive vulnerabilities, scoring a try to extend the lead to 12-0, despite conversion attempts falling short.
Halftime saw the Panthers comfortably ahead with a 20-0 lead, courtesy of further tries from Zack Lamont and a first-half double from the impressive Amituanai.
Western Suburbs showed signs of life in the second half as Declan Casey found the try line from dummy-half, narrowing the gap to 14 points.
However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly quashed by the Panthers, with Mavrik Geyer‘s powerful break paving the way for Tyrone Peachey to score and reaffirm their dominance.
Amituanai’s blistering form continued as he completed a hat-trick with a sensational solo effort, sealing a resounding 30-6 victory for the Penrith Panthers.
