Dana White Prepares for Major Boxing Showdown with Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford

LAS VEGAS, NV — Dana White is gearing up for a pivotal week in his career, following the announcement that TKO Boxing will launch with a highly anticipated boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on September 12. The fight will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, a venue White has historically opposed for events.
The decision to host such a significant match at Allegiant Stadium has prompted changes in White’s previous stance. In a post-fight press conference, he was asked if this high-profile event altered his views. He stated, “Nothing will change my mind about a stadium show… I really like this town and the energy in that place was awesome all night.”
In an interview with Carlos Contreras Legaspi for ESPN Deportes, White expressed excitement about working alongside Canelo and Crawford. “It’s an absolute honor,” he said. “I look forward to working with these guys from now until September; it’s going to be fun.” White emphasized that though he prefers arenas, he is focused on enhancing the experience at Allegiant Stadium, which can hold over 65,000 spectators. “Yeah, I hate it. I hate it. So, because I hate it so much, you know I’m gonna have to try to figure out how to make it an incredible experience inside Allegiant,” he added.
Following the boxing match, White will shift his attention to UFC 320 on September 13, which will coincide with the third installment of Noche UFC at Arena Guadalajara, despite prior delays in the venue’s opening. White confirmed to ESPN Deportes that TKO Boxing’s involvement in the Alvarez vs. Crawford fight is extensive. “I’m doing the promotion, we’re doing the production, the event ops, PR, everything to do with the fight, just like a UFC fight,” he explained. The upcoming showdown represents one of the largest fights of 2025, and White is dedicated to making it a memorable event.
