Dave Chappelle Returns to Host SNL as GloRilla Makes Debut
NEW YORK — Comedian Dave Chappelle returns to host *Saturday Night Live* for the fourth time on Saturday, January 18, 2025, as part of the show’s 50th-anniversary celebrations. Grammy-nominated rapper GloRilla will make her *SNL* debut as the musical guest.
The episode marks the first new installment of 2025 and continues the show’s milestone season. Chappelle, a veteran host, last appeared on *SNL* in 2022. GloRilla, a rising star from Memphis, Tennessee, is set to bring her chart-topping hits to the iconic stage.
GloRilla, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, first gained mainstream attention with her 2022 hit “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” which peaked at No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her collaboration with Cardi B, “Tomorrow,” reached No. 9, solidifying her place in the music industry. Her debut album, *Ehhthang Ehhthang*, released in October 2024, peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts.
“I’m thrilled to be part of *SNL*’s 50th season,” GloRilla said in a statement. “It’s an honor to perform on such a legendary stage.”
The 50th-anniversary celebrations include a three-hour primetime special, *SNL50: The Anniversary Special*, airing Sunday, February 16, on NBC and Peacock. The special will feature highlights from the show’s history, including iconic sketches, musical performances, and appearances by former cast members and hosts.
In addition to the special, NBC is airing a documentary co-directed by Questlove and Oz Rodriguez, titled *Live from New York: The SNL Experience*, which premieres January 27. The film delves into the show’s cultural impact and features behind-the-scenes stories from its 50-year run.
Fans can also immerse themselves in the *SNL* world through a limited-time attraction at New York City’s Rockefeller Center, running from January 30 to February 2. The interactive experience allows visitors to “host” their own episode of the show.
*Saturday Night Live* airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET/10:30 p.m. CT on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.
