DeAnna Pappas Files Restraining Order Against Ex-Husband Amid Domestic Dispute

NEW YORK, NY — Former Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas has filed for a restraining order against her ex-husband Stephen Stagliano following a domestic dispute that led to her arrest on February 27. Pappas, 43, detailed her claims in court documents, stating that Stagliano, 41, was the aggressor during a confrontation at her home.
Pappas’ arrest stemmed from allegations made by Stagliano, who claimed she was intoxicated while caring for their children, daughter Addison and son Austin. The incident reportedly began when Stagliano’s mother, Lynn, went to Pappas’ house on February 26 for a routine pickup. Lynn alleged in her statement that she smelled alcohol on Pappas’ breath at the time.
“When I arrived, I very clearly smelled alcohol on DeAnna’s breath,” Lynn stated in her declaration, claiming that she left with Austin after noticing the smell. Stagliano later arrived at Pappas’ home for their daughter, and an argument ensued, during which Pappas alleges Stagliano forcefully entered her garage and physically pushed her.
Pappas contends that she did not consume any alcohol that night and has stated, “At no time was I requested to test for alcohol despite Stephen’s allegations.” In her court filing, she outlined her perspective on the situation, insisting that video recorded by their daughter would validate her claims of being the victim.
Following her arrest, Pappas was released on a misdemeanor charge with a bond set at $20,000. She subsequently claims to have undergone voluntary drug testing, resulting in negative results for both alcohol and narcotics.
In addressing her co-parenting relationship with Stagliano, Pappas referred to their style as “parallel parenting,” indicating they tend to handle their children separately unless a serious issue arises. She acknowledged the need for improvement in their cooperative efforts, but emphasized her commitment to prioritizing the well-being of their children.
Pappas reiterated in her filing, “I do believe I have made significant effort for the sake of our children.” Moreover, she expressed a desire for Stagliano to collaborate in finding solutions for their family dynamic regardless of their personal issues.
This conflict arises amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings, which were initiated in January 2023 and finalized in June 2024. The couple agreed to share joint custody and established terms regarding substance use during their parenting periods, aiming to ensure their children’s safety and stability.
Pappas continues to maintain that despite any marital challenges, she believes Stagliano is a good father and that their children “love him deeply.” The restraining order, which mandates Stagliano to remain at least 100 yards away from Pappas, is set to be discussed in a hearing later this month.
